Outpatient services include:
- Psychological assessment and testing
- Counseling services for individuals, couples, and families
- Assessment and treatment for addictions
- Day treatment services for both mental health and addictions
- Psychiatric assessment and medication management
Psychological assessment and testing
A psychological assessment includes an interview, use of screening questionnaires and sometimes more formal testing to clarify and diagnose problems with memory, attention, IQ, or personality concerns. Your psychologist works with your primary care doctor to determine whether your problem requires medical treatment or medication, counseling or other additional services to maximize your success.
Counseling services for individuals, couples, and families
Counseling is a process of helping you to better understand your problems, emotions, thought patterns, and behaviors. With the help of a skilled and empathetic therapist you will learn to express your feelings safely and effectively to live more in harmony with others.
Assessment and treatment for addictions
It’s not about how much or how often you use. If your use is causing a problem in your life come in and talk to the experienced recovery staff of MMC BHS. You will be listened to with respect and empathy.
Addiction is a disease of the body, mind, and spirit that affects not only the person with the addiction but also the family and other loved ones. If you do need help to get well to recover, our experienced and sensitive professionals can help you with an individualized plan to identify your stressors, work on your issues, and give support for your growth and recovery.
Day treatment services for both mental health and addictions
MMC Behavioral Health Services offers day treatment programs for both mental health and recovery services. These outpatient programs are designed to provide individuals with intensive care while allowing them to maintain their work, home, and family routines.
The mental health day treatment program is a daytime alternative for those who need more intensive contact than traditional outpatient treatment. It is also appropriate for those persons who need therapeutic intervention during the transition from inpatient treatment to home. The program’s structure, intensive therapy, and group support are designed to benefit those persons whose emotional difficulties interfere with independent functioning.
The recovery day treatment program is the most intensive treatment for people who struggle with addictions that we are able to offer at this time. People who feel that outpatient services are not intense enough to help them meet their goals may find that day treatment is a better fit for them.
Psychiatric assessment and medication management
The assessment with a psychiatrist includes a review of past and current medications, your medical and family history, as well as the current problems you are experiencing. The assessment is generally an hour long and can be followed up with medication management appointments to ensure that your medications are helpful and appropriate with no problems or side effects.
Behavioral Health Inpatient Services is a 10-bed acute care facility that offers a spectrum of inpatient services for patients requiring psychiatric stabilization and chemical detoxification.
