Northwestern Wisconsin’s need for a total healthcare facility became apparent in 1968. Since Ashland’s two existing hospitals, Ashland Community Hospital and Trinity Lutheran Hospital, were in older buildings, they were not easily remodeled or refurbished. Therefore, a new facility was constructed, and Memorial Medical Center opened on October 9, 1972.
We're celebrating in an outdoor, safe way. Look for the large white tents on the lawn on the south side of the hospital (right off of Maple Lane).
