The Regional Wellness Fund of Memorial Medical Center, Inc., formerly called the MMC Development Corporation, began in 1980 as a group of interested community members that wanted to make a difference for people living near the south shore of Lake Superior.
The primary mission of the Fund is to support efforts to improve the health and wellness of our region. Over the years, this Fund has provided financial support to a variety of projects and organizations in our community, including special programs for Bayfield Recreation Center, books for Can’t Wait to Read, improvements for the Ashland Senior Center, CORE Transitional Care Program, new ambulance for the Town of Iron River and start-up for NorthLakes Community Health Clinic.
The Board of the Regional Well Fund of Memorial Medical Center is comprised of ten community members with the primary purpose of supporting community efforts for overall wellness.
