Food Service Worker

Job Description:
The Food Service Worker is responsible for safe food preparation and excellent customer service for patients, visitors and employees. Responsible for maintaining high standard of quality food production and portion control, and maintaining high safety and sanitation standards based on the Food Code and HACCP principles. Performs duties efficiently and with a commitment to quality and service.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitors Food Temperatures
- Follows Proper Storage Practices
- Follows Correct Dishwashing/ Pot washing Procedures
- Follows Written Guidelines for Handling Chemicals.
- Follows Safe and Correct Equipment Usage.
- Prevents Cross contamination Through Proper Food Handling Techniques.
- Follows Proper Procedures for Food Preparation/ Production and Service.
- Complies with Infection Control Standards and Practices.
- Follows Tray Delivery Procedures.
- Is Responsible for Demonstrating Good Work Habits.
- Demonstrates Interpersonal Competence By Contributing To A Therapeutic and Positive Environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be able to speak the English language and write in an understandable manner, follow written and oral instructions, interact with all members of the healthcare team and respond appropriately to all requests.
- Some formal or on-the-job training in food preparation for quantity cooking is preferred.
- Must be able to understand and apply food sanitation laws.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
- Must be able to work flexible, changing shifts including early morning and evening hours.
Education / Licensure / Certification Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Shift Rotation:
- 8- hour shifts
