About the Job:
The Environmental Services Assistant/Technician provides cleaning and servicing in all areas of the hospital and behavioral health building as assigned and supervised by the E.S. Supervisor and/or Director of Environmental Services. Provides a clean, safe and sanitary environment for patients, visitors and employees. Performs duties efficiently with a commitment to quality and excellence.
- Performs, according to established frequency standards, cleaning of the environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Utilizes principles of body mechanics and safety in providing the above service.
- Performs discharge and transfer servicing to meet bed utilization needs.
- Maintains patient confidentiality by sharing information with appropriate hospital personnel only, according to HIPAA rules.
- Maintains open communication with other departments in order to provide quality service to patients, visitors and staff.
- Assists with the general preventive maintenance plan of the hospital by reporting defects, safety concerns, and breakage.
- Understands and utilizes proper cleaning methods and established routines.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including floating to other units.
- Uses cleaning agents economically and as prescribed.
- Cleans and maintains individual cleaning cart, equipment, and work area.
- Operates and follows preventive maintenance of equipment utilized in environmental servicing including but not limited to wet and dry vacuums, single disk, automatic floor scrubber and carpet extractor.

**Sign on incentive will be $500 after 6 months & another $500 after one year**
Requirements:
- Must be willing and able to perform repetitive tasks in an assigned area to maintain standards of cleanliness.
- Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts and shifts of varying length.
- Must be able to speak the English language and write in an understandable manner, follow written and oral instructions, interact with all members of the healthcare team and respond appropriately to all requests.
- Must be able to read instructions, policies and procedures, chemical product labels, safety rules, equipment maintenance guidelines, etc, and complete documentation of work performed.
- Must be willing and able to be trained on use of equipment and tools such as wet and dry vacuums, automatic floor scrubber, carpet extractor, computer and any new equipment resulting from new product or best practices.
- Must be willing to be trained, or able to complete online training requirements as required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Previous environmental services experience preferred.
Shift Time: 8-hour shifts
