Infection Preventionist

Full-time opening at MMC as the Infection Preventionist. Coordinates all activities related to the prevention, reporting, and control of health care associated infections (HAIs). Helps develop policies and standards of care which reduce risk of HAIs among patients; accountable for surveillance, prevention, and control of infections in patients, staff, physicians, visitors, and other internal and external customers; serves as consultant, educator, researcher, and a resource to all areas of the hospital in order to provide quality health care. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, medical technology, microbiology or biology required. Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a hospital setting and infection control experience. Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) required or able to obtain within 2 years. Nursing applicants must have a valid WI license; Medical Technology applicants must be ASCP registered.  Must have outstanding customer service and communication skills, be proficient with Microsoft office applications, and able to be competent with other relevant software applications within 30 days of hire.  Competitive benefits include health, dental, life insurance, 403(b) pension and generous paid leave.
