Inventory Control Specialist

About the Job:
Under the supervision of the Perioperative Services Director, the Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Accountable for ordering and managing inventory based on PAR levels determined by leadership
- Uncrate/Unbox delivered supplies and places in appropriate storage areas
- Accountable to stock all areas of Perioperative Services and SPD
- Accountable to use designated electronic tools and reports as determined by leadership
- Accountable to actively participate in inventory workflows and independently assess/suggest inventory changes
- Works in collaboration with Hayward Area Memorial Hospital as needed
- Understands and supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of MMC, True North and organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum Associate Degree in Business with Bachelors preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft® Office applications
- Must be proficient in computer applications relevant to Perioperative Services and Materials Management within one month of hire
- Must be able to act as lead Perioperative Services representative on projects devoted to materials and EPIC software
- Must be able to apply Lean Methodology to process flow and resource consumption
- Must demonstrate effective communication and independent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical supplies desirable
- Prior experience in supply chain management and healthcare preferred
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization
