About the Job:
The Network Administrator performs the following duties: Setting up and designing new networks. Maintaining and upgrading existing computer networks, including hardware but not exclusive to Firewalls, Routers, Core & Layer 3 Switches. Updating and configuring network security systems in alignment with the REI IS Security Program. Monitoring and maximizing network performance. Installing and configuring computer systems and network equipment, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Server/Networking Virtualization. Evaluating network protocols utilized as it relates to NIST supported security protocols. They work with system administrators and security analysts to track down security vulnerabilities in the information sharing network to ensure that such weaknesses in the system are addressed and remedied efficiently. Create and implement networking policies, protocols, and procedures for the Organization; as well as managed campaigns testing end user experiences as it relates to network performance. Responsible for presenting reports based delivery to IS Leadership on network risk analysis and network utilization/growth projections.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Network Administration, Associate Degree in Information Systems or Network Administration, or other related IT Networking areas is preferred.
- Experience in Healthcare IT preferred but not necessary.
- Experience in networking or related field 7 plus years
- Experience with computer network concepts and networking design
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
- Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact
- Ability to utilize REI’s Change Management system to successfully manage and support all network infrastructure
