About the Job:
The Manager of Family Medicine, in collaboration with Clinic providers and the Vice President of Provider and Clinic Operations, will oversee staff in the Family Medicine settings to support continued growth and maturation of existing practices in these care environments. Will be responsible for the provision and direction of safe and effective patient-centered care to ensure practices support excellence in quality and patient satisfaction. Manages staff members in the department, ensures staff competency, demonstrates accountability within daily operations, promotes success in the pillars of workforce, finance and service, and provides leadership for staff activities and duties. Establishes and maintains collegial relationships with department staff and managers at MMC. Consults with staff, physicians, and/or clinical director as needed to resolve patient care and departmental issues. Interprets facility policy to ensure patient needs are met in an effective and efficient manner. Prepares and maintains departmental budget including staffing FTEs. Meets or exceeds the competency requirements for staff of the department (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS).
Requirements:
- Preferred 5-7 years of experience in a similar position.
- Required 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Assumes accountability for the day-to-day operations of the practice while continuing to function clinically when necessary.
- Provides care within the context of excellent service to patients, families and co-workers; takes responsibility for anticipating, understanding, and satisfying needs while striving to exceed expectations. - Demonstrates superior written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to effectively create relationships to support patients, families, staff, physicians and administrative personnel including: active listening; honesty; ability to clearly convey information and openness to thoughts and ideas expressed by others.
- Collaborates with medical staff to monitor patient outcomes; set clinical quality priorities; recommend and implement professional improvements and initiatives and implements practice-based safety initiatives.
- Motivation for continuous learning and improvement. Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and MMC goals to improve patient safety, quality and satisfaction.
- Involves stakeholders and experts in planning, designing and redesigning change. Orchestrates complex organizational change; adapts to new structures, procedures and technology in a timely manner and acknowledges the psychological transition on self and others.
- Demonstrates teamwork in the building of positive work relationships with staff, physicians and co-workers while working collaboratively to achieve patient care and/or organizational goals.
- Demonstrates a high degree of work quality including: accuracy; thoroughness; consistency and professional presentation.
- Uses good judgment, logical thought processes and critical thinking skills to achieve positive patient and work environment goals.
- Demonstrates work effectiveness and efficiency including: ability to prioritize competing work demands; achievement of targeted work volume in a timely manner and positively managing work delays.
- Demonstrates competence in organizational quality improvement efforts to improve patient care outcomes and streamline work processes including: data collection/analysis; improvement trials; scorecard monitoring/trending and quality improvement project presentation.
- Demonstrates leadership in achieving departmental goals including alignment to organizational priorities, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes. Provides reports as needed to demonstrate progress. Pursues and recommends best practices whenever possible using trending and available benchmarks.
- Demonstrates leadership in supporting and implementing elements of the Leadership Bundle, such as team Huddles, Rounding, department meetings, etc.
- Completes human resource activities
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility
- Demonstrates principles of risk management
- Demonstrates leadership, managerial, supervision and administrative acumen
- Performs other duties as assigned
Shift Time: Monday-Friday, standard business hours
