Stacy Ludwig RNC-OB, C-EFM

I have been a nurse at the Family Birthplace of MMC for 15-years. I am married and have 2 sons and 1 daughter. Both my husband and I were born here and have lived in this area our entire lives. I have always known I wanted to be a nurse who worked with moms and babies since I was a teenager. I especially enjoy caring for moms in labor and feel blessed to be a part of their families’ special day! Stacy Ludwig RNC-OB, C-EFM

Jennifer Neilson RNC-OB, C-EFM

Hello! I am Jennifer and am new to the MMC Family Birthplace. I just moved to the Ashland area with my husband and son from Colorado to be closer to our family. I feel like I have found my home here at MMC. The staff is amazing and welcoming. I am really impressed with the woman centered care and support they offer here. I especially love that they embrace natural and holistic care! I became a nurse in 2003 after watching my friend deliver her baby. I was honored to be in her room as a support and amazed at how strong and beautiful she was. I was hooked! I still feel that same joy and honor at every delivery I attend. I look forward to meeting you and your growing family! Jennifer Nielsen, RNC-OB, C-EFM

Emily Wohling BS,RN, C-EFM

I have been passionate about labor and delivery since I had my first child many years ago. That curiosity led me to pursue my final clinical experience while in nursing school at MMC’s Family Birthplace. While I was terrified at first, I quickly fell in love with the beauty of birth and watching families grow.  When an opening became available in this unit, I jumped at the opportunity to once again work with families welcoming a new little one.  I’ve had some amazing experiences so far and love every birth I’ve been fortunate to attend.  The patients have truly touched my heart and my coworkers have become family.  When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our five children. Nancy Heidel BSN, RNC-OB,C-EFM

I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison making me a proud and avid Badger fan.  “On Wisconsin”!   Since my graduation in 1982, I have practiced nursing in a variety of settings in several states.  Most of my years have been dedicated to Maternal Child care.  The one constant throughout my years of practice has been my joy and appreciation of being a nurse.  Simply stated, my profession of nursing has far exceeded anything I could have envisioned.  I like being a nurse! What I also love is being a wife and mom.  In having our own children,  my husband I really appreciated where our babies were delivered and who was there helping us.  Priceless memories and keepsake moments! I have just recently relocated here to the shores of Lake Superior and have really enjoyed the feeling of being welcomed by others.  In working here at MMC in the Family Birthplace I am allowed to return that feeling – by helping welcome the newest residents of the area!  Nobody gets to attend more “birth”day celebrations than we do!  I hope you share your new baby’s birthday with us!
